UM, WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

These are great questions and absolutely ones you should be asking when looking to hire a trainer! My name is Ryan Stec. I attended a technical school in NYC called the Focus Personal Training Institute. After graduation from their program, I became certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer. Since then I've also earned two additional certifications from Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning as a Certified Functional Strength Coach and from Dr. John Rusin as a Pain-Free Performance Specialist. I am also CPR/AED certified. I am also in the process of studying for my CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. I am continuously learning and studying up on all things strength & conditioning, human behavior, and nutrition, amongst other things. 

I'M CONFUSED. HOW DOES THIS WORK?

It's simple. To get started, you can either book a free 30 min phone consult or jump ahead a step and fill out a training application. From there, we'll spend some time getting to know each other and discussing your goals for training. If you feel we're a good fit, you can purchase a plan that best suits your needs. Still not sure? BUT WHY DO I HAVE TO APPLY? CAN'T I JUST BUY A PACKAGE?

Sure! However, taking the time to fill out an application is quick and easy (10 min tops), and gives me a better understanding of what you're looking for. It also lets me know more about you and if we'd be a good fit. If you like the vibes I'm putting out and want to purchase, awesome! I'll see you on the other side.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?

Nothing against regular trainers at regular gyms. I am also one of those! However, opening my business to clients online allows me to spend less time in the gym doing non-client related work and more time focusing on individual clients and their needs. In a gym setting, you have a trainer for one hour at a time. With online coaching, you have access to a coach whenever you need them.

DO I NEED A GYM MEMBERSHIP?

You will need access to basic gym equipment including:

  • Dumbbells

  • Resistance bands

  • Kettlebells

  • Weight benches

  • Pull-up Bar

  • Medicine balls

  • Foam roller

  • Exercise mat or yoga mat

BUT WHAT IF I HATE GYMS OR I DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT LISTED?

That's fine. While I do believe having access to that equipment makes life a little easier, there are always alternatives to fit your needs. I'm happy to discuss and build your program around what works for you. The best program is the one that you will do, this is the benefit of a custom program!

HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK?

Upon purchase, you will only be charged for the first month. Then recurring monthly payments will be deducted from the card on file on that date each month until you choose to cancel your plan. You may also choose to purchase plans in 3-month increments at a 10% discount. For example, if 1 month is $250, purchasing 3 months at once would be $675. 

WHY THE 3-MONTH COMMITMENT?

As I mentioned earlier, I don't sell quick fixes, generalized programs, or one-off workouts. I sell long-lasting results, based on results-driven programs that take hard work and dedication. You may purchase and pay for training one month at a time if that suits your financial needs. However, a three-month commitment tells me two things about you. First, you have what it takes to make a long-term commitment to your health (hell yeah!). Second, that you're willing to stick to a plan long enough to see noticeable progress (it's worth it, I promise).

WHAT IF I HATE THIS AND I WANT TO CANCEL?

While I'd hate to see you go, I'm not in this to trap people or to take your money unfairly. If you wish to cancel, you must email me within two weeks of the desired cancel date. Any future charges to your card will be canceled, but no refunds will be given or prorated for the months you've already used. It's just like Netflix. For example, if you're billing date is on the 8th of the month and you cancel on the 5th, you won't be charged for the next month's payment. If you cancel on the 15th, you will have access to your plan and workouts until the 8th of the following month and then your plan will be terminated with no further charge. 

WHAT IF I NEED TO PAUSE TRAINING DUE TO A MEDICAL CONDITION OR TRAVEL?

Accounts can be paused for up to 2 weeks a limited number of times. If it's determined by your doctor that you need to pause training due to an illness or medical emergency, or you need to pause for a vacation or long-term travel and working out on vacation isn't an option, I am happy to accommodate you. Please reach out to me and we can discuss the best way to move forward and make the most out of your paid plan.

DO YOU GIVE REFUNDS?

No. Due to the nature of the custom programming and content that is delivered to you upon purchase, there are no refunds. If you wish to cancel and you give proper notice (two weeks) you will only be billed for previous months.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I'VE REACHED MY GOAL?

Create a new goal! We will continue to evaluate your goals and progress. From there we can move on to tackle new fitness goals, continue to work towards improving on current ones, whatever is best for you. It's my goal to build long-lasting relationships with my clients that extend beyond the initial program. However if after you've reached your goal you choose to move on, your card will no longer be charged after your cancellation date. There will never be any surprise charges.

WHAT PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

All payments can be made through Paypal or Wix, which accepts all major credit and debit cards. The card you use to make your initial purchase is the same card that will remain on file for subsequent payments. If you have any questions around Wix's payment process, I'd be happy to refer you to proper documentation.

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANY SOFTWARE?

All coaching programs will be delivered through my custom TrueCoach app, which is highly recommended, but not mandatory. You may use the TrueCoach website if you don’t wish to download the app. Both options are free to use. If you are Android user, unfortunately, TrueCoach is not yet available. However, there are other awesome alternatives to receive your programming and coaching notes.
